I've been communicating with Josie about my situation and am delighted to have found a forum to sound off in ! I work for a company aimed at getting the long term unemployed back to work. I was summoned to explain why my enhanced crb had a disclosure that related to my previous employment where I worked with children - bearing in mind I was not convicted of any crime nor do I have any cautions or warnings - and I stated it was not relevant to my job. I was suspended - and remain so - whilst the Leviathan I work for determine whether I am to be trusted working with adults. Now, given I have worked for them for a few months and have developed a fantastic reputation, and given the police disclosed details not relevant to the post I am in, are there any other people out there - course there is ! - who have fallen victim to the iniquities of the crb system ? What I did originally as a teacher was try and expose paedophiles and got my fingers burnt so doing - the Leicestershire Police have obstructed my attempts to change my crb disclosure even though I went for a pre-trial hearing at which the CPS had their ares kicked for even trying to bring a prosecution against a guy for whom Safeguarding was the Holy Grail ! It isn't fun one day being the best thing since sliced bread then being shoe horned out of a company who are trying to get the unemployed back to work ! A crazy world we live in - and I am keen to expose the charade that CRB has become - others in my company have been sacked even though they have no convictions - the company, by the way, is Working Links - they work with the DWP....I wonder what they would say to that ! Mmmm....
