Freedom in Europe, Prague

With the euro elections approaching and politics across the continent under siege from corrupt, self-serving politicians and a scandal-obsessed media (not to mention egg throwing 'activists') EiP thinks its time we built a new politics. In association with the Manifesto Club and as part of their Europe wide 'Freedom Summer', EiP invites you to come on down to the Pink Floyd Cafe and examine the issues that you think are important in the forthcoming elections and if parties or politicians are actually dealing with those.

As a starting point, the seemingly endless erosion of our liberties and the consequent constraints on our real freedom are issues that we all face across the continent. Whether it is the explosion of CCTV in the UK, the hiding away of the homeless in Czech Republic or the booze bans in both places, we can all feel the effects of this creeping campaign of hyperregulation. So, we need to stand up, start speaking truth to power and seize control for ourselves. We need to have elected representatives who work for us and are accountable to us. We need to be informed, involved and engaged.

Time: Tuesday, June 2 at 7:30pm
